Acorn Sisters

Tell us about the Acorn Sisters label and how you got started.

Always making treasures for family and friends, we thought we would bring the same things into the Canberra market, join the creative souls and take the leap of faith and actually do something we love... which is make, create, paint, sand or something in between. We have just finished our first winter line which consisted of knitted everything, from fingerless gloves to winter headbands and scarfs, all embellished with beautiful jewelled and beaded floral details.

Now that the warmer weather is approaching we have been sewing up a storm for our summer range which will include embellished singlets, gorgeous felt hats and fun visors hats. We even have dug out our favourite golden books and up cycled them into super cute buntings perfect for little people’s rooms or somewhere that is in need of a dash of colour or splash of vintage.

What inspires your designs?
Our beautiful little people who remind us daily, that each day is a special day.
What can market folk expect to find at our spring event?
Something fun, girlie and vintage inspired.

Any exciting projects lined-up for the next year?
A fresh new winter knit wear line for 2015.

What is it about Hustle&Scout that made you want be a stallholder?
The great diversity of the stall holders and quality products on offer is inspiring in itself. Everyone wants to be part of something that is cultured and exciting, which Hustle&Scout has brought to Canberra. It’s amazing to see such great designers and a range of different and versatile products.

MY FAV THINGS.

Guilty pleasure: Local wines, we are lucky enough to be living in country NSW and are surrounded by amazing wineries and fresh produce. Who doesn’t love that!!!
First song on your ultimate mixtape: Anything 80's

Place to unwind in Canberra: Four Winds Winery Murrumbateman. Totally worth the short drive from Canberra. A great spot to soak in the sun and enjoy the local wines and gourmet wood fired pizza. The kids are made welcome and will love running around the vineyard outside

Thing you’ve made: Vintage hand poured soy candles. Made in upcycled nanna's preserving jars.
